Arsenal and Chelsea may be interested to learn that Dani Olmo could be a potential transfer to watch out for in 2024, according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive column for the Daily Briefing.

The 25-year-old has shone in his time in the Bundesliga and could surely play for one of the top Premier League clubs, with the player recently linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea by Mundo Deportivo, as cited and translated by Sport Witness.

Olmo could surely be a fine fit for the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea, but it seems nothing is happening with the Spaniard for the time being, according to Romano.

The journalist did not name any specific clubs chasing Olmo, though he did say that he could be one to watch in 2024 as he now has a release clause in his contract, worth €60million.

Arsenal or Chelsea would surely have little trouble affording that, and could feel it’s a worthwhile investment to give them more depth in attack, though both sides already have a lot of talent in that position, so it remains to be seen if Olmo would opt to move there or to consider other options where he might be more of a regular starter.

“Dani Olmo – As I reported at the beginning of June, there’s a release clause for €60m starting from 2024; it was not available this summer,” Romano said.

“I think it’s a possibility for him to leave next summer but not something advanced or guaranteed yet, too early; also, he’s now injured.”

When the best young players become available on the market, Arsenal have to ensure that they are in the conversation, particularly when four other clubs are chasing the same target.

The Gunners have bought well over the last few transfer windows, as Mikel Arteta and Edu seek to push the north Londoners over the line and win the Premier League title for the first time in 20 years.

Perhaps this season, more than any other, would be poetic for Arsenal if they could land the title, for it’s the 20th anniversary of the club’s Invincible season.

Since then, it’s been a long, hard road for the club to get back to the very top, but Arteta certainly has them playing in a manner which suggests that trophy success is just around the corner.

Arsenal now have a young and vibrant team with no dissenting voices such as Mesut Ozil or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the dressing room.

One gets the feeling of an ‘all for one’ mentality, and that comes from the top down.

The feelgood factor at the club makes it a welcoming environment to come into, and that may help 16-year-old sensation, Dino Klapija, choose them over Man United, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, all of whom are credited with an interest by the Daily Mail.

The American-Croatian is valued at £5m and would be one for the future rather than the present.

Reports ahead of the 2023 summer window were rife with links between Xavi Simons and some of England’s top clubs.

One of the most frequently linked outfits in Arsenal (football.london), however, may be regretting their decision to not strike whilst the iron was hot.

Christian Falk reported in his exclusive column for CaughtOffside that the quality of the Dutchman’s performances of late has since seen his value shoot up from £6.9m ‘just over a year ago’ to £61.1m today.

“Xavi Simons has increased his value at Leipzig from €40-70m. Just over a year ago, he was only worth €8m!” the German wrote.

“This shows how well Xavi is developing in Leipzig. The club really wants to work with him for at least another year.

“The development is a good argument for this, but after the strong performances, PSG has also expressed interest in bringing the loan player back.”

With the player on loan from PSG too, it’s difficult to imagine the French giants letting the 20-year-old go without a fight.

The right-sided winger (who can also play as an attacking midfielder) has enjoyed a strong start to the 2023/24 campaign, registering seven goal contributions in 11 games.

It’s an applaudable start to the season, though one that falls slightly short of Bukayo Saka’s 10 goal contributions in as many games, despite missing two games due to a thigh injury.

The boat may have been and gone for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, though they’ll hardly feel shortchanged with one of the leading right wingers in world football already present at the club.

Manchester United were one of the clubs interested in the potential transfer of Xavi Simons over the summer and even made a big offer to Paris Saint-Germain for the Dutch midfielder.

Simons has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe in recent times, impressing at PSV last season before PSG activated a buy-back clause to bring him back before then loaning him out to Leipzig.

According to journalist Loic Tanzi, Man Utd were then one of the clubs who also tried to sign Simons, making a big offer to PSG for the 20-year-old, though Leipzig were also in the race and ended up signing him on loan…

Simons could have been a superb signing for United, who would surely benefit from injecting more youth and quality into their midfield after a dip in form from ageing players like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

It will be interesting to see if Simons can end up returning to PSG and become a key player, or if he’ll end up being sold for big money, perhaps giving MUFC another opportunity to try to sign him.

Premier League champions Man City will make a move for RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo next summer if the Spain international becomes available.

That is according to Football Insider, who reports that the summer window of 2024 is a realistic opportunity for the Manchester club to land their long-term target.

Rumours have begun to circulate ahead of the winter transfer window regarding the Spanish star with Arsenal and Chelsea also being linked with a potential move for Olmo. There is also interest from Spain with Barcelona among the favourites to land the 25-year-old next summer.

Olmo is under contract at RB Leipzig until June 2027 after penning renewed terms back in June. The German club are prepared for his eventual sale and hope that a good EURO 2024 campaign next summer will boost his price tag even more.

Olmo is a wanted man

Olmo has made an impressive start to this season with Leipzig scoring five goals and assisting another one during the four matches he has played. A knee injury has kept him out of action since early September but he is likely to stay at the club until at least the summer.

A January move will not be approved by the Bundesliga club having lost so many key stars this summer as Man City will be considered the favourites to land the Spain international following EURO 2024.

Man City have interest in RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo but the German club will not allow the 25-year-old to leave the Bundesliga in January.

Rumours have begun to circulate ahead of the winter transfer window regarding the Spanish star with Arsenal and Chelsea also being linked with a potential move for the Leipzig star. There is also interest from Spain with Barcelona among the favourites to land Olmo next summer.

However, according to Football Insider, RB Leipzig are reluctant to let Olmo leave the club in January having already lost key players such as Christopher Nkunku, Josko Gvardiol and Dominik Szoboszlai to Premier League clubs during the summer.

Dani Olmo is wanted by several English clubs

It isn’t often that the best footballing talents become available on the marketplace, however, when they do, there’s bound to be a queue of suitors for their services.

From a player’s perspective, he needs to understand the potential project he’s going to, his role in it, the likelihood of silverware and his financial remuneration – not necessarily in that order – before coming to a decision on what’s next.

If money is his motivation then the decision becomes relatively simple given that a player will go to the club that pays him the most. If he has more ambition than that, then coming to a swift decision is all the more difficult.

For RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, it appears that the second scenario will be the one that will author any decision to leave the Bundesliga outfit.

According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Goal), the Spanish international is not only being courted by Man City, but he also has admirers at Arsenal, Chelsea and Spanish trio Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The outlet suggest that it’s the Citizens in the box seat at this stage, and the appeal of playing for the reigning European and English champions is obvious.

Sport Bild also note that the player is considering a change of scenery, so there’s every chance that an auction will be the result of Olmo being put up for sale.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs interested in RB Leipzig winger Dani Olmo following a recent change in his situation.

The Spaniard only signed a new contract with Leipzig back in June, but it seems he’s no longer entirely happy to stay at the club for the long-term, meaning a move next summer could be a possibility, according to Mundo Deportivo, as cited and translated by Sport Witness.

The report suggests Arsenal and Chelsea would be two clubs alerted to the situation, and it would certainly be intriguing to see Olmo representing one of these two London giants.

The 25-year-old has had a fine career at Leipzig, having previously impressed at Dinamo Zagreb, and it makes sense that he might now be keen to make the next step up in his career.

Dani Olmo to Arsenal or Chelsea?

Arsenal have plenty of quality up front already, so it’s not entirely clear how Olmo would fit in, but of course every top club needs good depth in every position.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are not having their best season, so might do well to think about bringing in someone like Olmo as an upgrade on under-performing attacking players like Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.

RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda has already drawn plenty of attention his way having moved to the Bundesliga over the summer with several Premier League clubs monitoring his progress in Germany.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea and Man United are two clubs monitoring Openda’s development in Germany and the Manchester club could move for the player next summer with the German club unwilling to sell in January.

The Belgium international would bring a lot of quality to Erik ten Hag’s team but having signed Rasmus Hojlund this summer, it is hard to see where the Leipzig star would play, as the front three positions are pretty much locked in for the coming seasons with Rashford and Antony playing either side of the Danish star.

Openda is liked by Man United

Openda joined RB Leipzig from Lens this summer as part of a deal worth €43m and penned a long-term contract at the Bundesliga club running until June 2028.

The Belgian star has already bagged five goals and one assist across 11 appearances so far this season and it is clear to see why the German club doesn’t want to let him go anytime soon.

Should Man United or any other club decide to make a move for Openda next summer, a deal will be very expensive given the length of his contract and his importance to Leipzig’s future.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea may reportedly struggle to seal the transfer of RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda, as his club are keen not to lose more top players after seeing the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Josko Gvardiol leave in the summer.

Openda only recently joined Leipzig from Lens, so it remains to be seen if he’d be ready to move again just yet anyway, but it seems there has been some interest from the top clubs in the Premier League.

Links with Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea are mentioned in Football Insider, though their report stresses that Leipzig will almost certainly not entertain letting the Belgian forward leave this January.

Openda will surely be one to watch for the future, however, as he’s showing great potential in the Bundesliga, picking up where he left off after his eye-catching form in Ligue 1 last season.

Lois Openda in action for RB Leipzig

Liverpool may well feel he’s a more reliable finisher than the inconsistent Darwin Nunez, while United and Chelsea have also had issues up front this season.

Marcus Rashford has gone badly off the boil at Old Trafford, while Nicolas Jackson has been rather thrown in at the deep end at Stamford Bridge, with a more proven player surely needed.
