Former Juventus and Inter Milan player Sergio Gori has sadly died at the age of 77.

The former Italy international was much loved in his country after a fine career in Serie A with a number of its biggest clubs.

Gori had two spells with Inter and also played for Juve, while he’s perhaps best known for the six years he spent with Cagliari, where he won Serie A in 1970.

He also won three caps for Italy and was in their 1970 World Cup squad, though he has now sadly passed away after two weeks battling illness in hospital in his home town of Milan.

Antonio Conte has reportedly asked Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici to try and sign talented youngster Nicola Zalewski from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.

According to the Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Conte is eyeing up young Poland international Zalewski, who came up through Roma’s youth academy before finding success under Mourinho.

The report states that PSG have also made recent inquiries regarding the 20-year-old, who is under contract with Roma until 2025, with several loan requests also having been made in January by Sampdoria and Cagliari, among others.

However, Mourinho has so far blocked all and any attempts to prise his star asset away from his Italian side, with the versatile player becoming irreplaceable.

Throughout the past season, the 20-year-old has become a key player switching from attacking midfield to left wing by Mourinho and knocking veteran player Leonardo Spinazzola from the first-choice position.

Zalewski joined Roma’s youth academy in 2018 and was promoted to the senior squad last summer. Since then, the Pole has made 25 senior appearances, directly contributing to three goals and is currently valued at £11m by Transfermarkt.

West Ham could be in the market for a striker this summer, with Michail Antonio reaching the latter stages of his career.

The Jamaican international has struggled with injuries during the last few years and is West Ham’s only recognised striker. Andriy Yarmolenko was often utilised as an out-of-position forward due to West Ham’s lack of numbers, and they’ve now been offered the chance to sign the son of Diego Simeone to bolster their front line.

That’s according to a recent report from Italian outlet Tuttomercato Web, who claim the Gunners are well in the running to sign the Argentine striker, also the son of the legendary Diego Simeone.

It has been noted that the forward, who scored 17 Serie A goals last season while on loan with Hellas Verona, could be sold if an offer of at least £17m (€20m) were made.

The Gunners aren’t the only club interested in Cagliari’s 26-year-old though. Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus are also believed to be in the running for the South American’s signature.

The saga will likely come down to which club acts first and with Arsenal also flirting with the idea of signing Man City’s Gabriel Jesus, the Londoners’ indecisiveness could hand the ‘Old Lady’ the advantage.

It’s believed he would cost in the region of €20m, and he could be a useful addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad. Simeone scored 17 league goals last season, and with Arsenal needing at least one striker, he could be brought in to fight it out with another recruit.

“Goodbye on loan or outright? I think he will sell him at a lower price than the one requested, there is a 36 million clause but the president spoke yesterday with Nandez and told him that he will lower the price and let him leave.”

Should Bentancur’s words prove to be accurate regarding the player’s ambitions, given the fact Tottenham Hotspur failed to qualify for this season’s Champions League, the Londoners will likely find it difficult to convince the Cagliari star to make the switch in January.
