Arsenal have made a decision on the future of Aaron Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta will not allow the goalkeeper to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The England star was a key player for the Gunners as they pushed for the Premier League title last season but the current campaign has seen the 25-year-old removed from Mikel Arteta’s starting eleven by summer signing David Raya – who has started each of the last eight games in the Premier League and Europe.
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are aware of the growing issue and the increased scrutiny surrounding their goalkeeper spot as Raya has not been convincing since taking over from Ramsdale.
This opens up an opportunity for the Englishman to get his spot back and only time will tell if he can do it.
The report states that Ramsdale wants regular first-team football, not only because his place in the England squad for Euro 2024 is at risk, but also to keep his career on track at a crucial time in his development.
There will be several clubs in the Premier League interested in the Arsenal star but the goalkeeper will be going nowhere this winter as he is left to fight for his place in North London.
Raya is doing more worse than wat Ramsdale is accused off, It’s Ramsdale who brought arsenal to where they are today it should even Ramsdale playing champions league because it was him who worked hard with others to make arsenal qualify and in the end he has not tested the beauty of champions league.
Arteta needs to point out convincing reasons why Raya is preferred to Ramsdale. Raya has not been better than Ramsdale, I will say they are about the same. Ramsdale was fond of forgetting himself outside his box thus conceding stupid goals and Raya is just the same or worse.
not convinced by Raya, at Brentford or Arsenal, i dont believe he is an upgrade on Ramsdale and his last thee performances have left me speechless on occasion. worry now is confidence is dented for them both
i think Arteta is just trying to aduce reasons, not existing, for his preference for his National. I heard that the main reason for pickin RAYA is because of his feet and use of the ball. I dare say that arsenal has not score many goals from direct kicks from RAYA. the Second goal by Chelsea, would have been saved by Ramsdale because of his height advantage nd positioning. No single individual has or ticks all the boxes in a Team and that is why we have a team. I do not see Arsenal challenging for the title. I stand to be corrected at the end of the season. Pride and emulation, are the twin recipe for mediocrity.
Raya should be the one to leave Arsenal.
If look Raya’s properly in terms of his consistency you say Aron R should Arsenal’s first choice goal keeper.
Aaron Ramsdale is by far the better Goalie based on what we have seen of Raya thusfar. Aaron does a far better job of rattling the away fans and geeing up our own fans and players alike. Rayas errors are very worrying. We need stability back in Goals and that’s Aaron
