Liverpool have had a great start to their 2023/24 campaign under Jurgen Klopp, which may have come as quite the surprise to many given how much under par the Reds were in the previous Premier League campaign.

Some studious transfer business together with the squad seemingly getting the bit between their teeth again has manifested itself into some high quality performances, and results have followed.

At the time of writing, Liverpool are nestled nicely in fourth place, just three points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur, and with the experience of a recent Premier League winning season behind them.

Whilst it’s true that they also have serial winners, Man City, and Arsenal above them, Liverpool are in an ideal position at this point in the campaign and, as long as they can keep pace with the top three, there’s no reason why, January purchases notwithstanding, they can’t be in the title conversation towards the business end of the campaign.

Transfer business in the new year for any of the clubs in the English top-flight could be the difference maker in terms of relative success or failure, and that’s perhaps why Liverpool are keeping tabs on highly-rated Ajax ace, Devyne Rensch.

According to Football Insider, the 20-year-old, who has already played over 100 first-team games for the Dutch giants, is a target for both the Reds and, potentially, Arsenal.

An experienced right-back who can play in other roles when required, it’s clear why his versatility may be of interest.

Liverpool are reportedly in the market for a right-back ahead of the 2024 transfer windows and the Reds will face competition from Arsenal for one of their targets.

According to Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp would like to add a new right-back, who can also play in other defensive roles, to his squad and one name on the Merseyside club’s list is Ajax’s Devyne Rensch.

The 20-year-old has played as a right-back for European giants this season but can also do a job at centre-back, defensive midfield and left-back.

The Dutch star has bagged one assist across the nine games he has featured in this season but has missed out on Ajax’s last three outings with an injury.

Rensch is out of contract at Ajax in 2025, which means next summer would be the ideal time to sell the youngster if he does not sign a new deal in Amsterdam.

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the Dutch defender Devyne Rensch ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old Dutchman has impressed with his performances for Ajax this season and Arsenal are hoping to bring him in as per Football Insider.

The Gunners need to sign a specialist right-back and Rensch could prove to be a solid, long-term acquisition. Mikel Arteta has had to use Ben White as his right-back this season. While the former Brighton player has done quite well, he is more suited to a central role.

Arsenal are lacking in depth when it comes to the central defensive options and Ben White switching to his natural role would be ideal for them.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of full-backs in recent weeks and Rensch happens to be one of the names on their wish list. The Dutchman is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him. He has the attributes to develop into a top-quality defender with coaching and experience.

Arsenal certainly have the financial resources to sign the player and it remains to be seen whether they decide to follow up on their interest with a concrete bid at the end of the season.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Ajax defender Devyne Rensch.

According to a report from Give Me Sport, the 20-year-old right-back is on the radar of Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are reportedly looking to bring in a quality alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the 20-year-old’s performances have caught their attention.

Rensch is highly rated at the Dutch club, and he has a big future ahead of him.

He could develop into a quality right-back in the near future and the opportunity to join a club like Liverpool could be an attractive option for him.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been quite underwhelming with his performances this season, and Liverpool have not been able to rest him because of the lack of quality alternatives. Talented youngster Calvin Ramsay has been ruled out with a long-term injury and Jurgen Klopp needs to add more depth to that position.

It will be interesting to see if Ajax are willing to let the player leave at the end of the season.

The defender has three goals and an assist to his name across all competitions this season.
