Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing sent a powerful message to the world after scoring the winner against Burnley.

Burnley took an early lead thanks to a Charlie Taylor stunner but Bournemouth responded almost immediately to level the score.

And they went on to score the winner late in the game to complete the turn around. Billing saw the Burnley keeper James Trafford off the line and audaciously chipped him from almost 40 yards out. The keeper managed to get a hand to it but it was not enough to keep it out.

After scoring the winner, he took off his shirt to reveal a message on his undershirt which said: “We are the world. We are the children”

The message is said to be in reference to what has been happening in Gaza where thousands of innocents have been killed in the Israel Palestine conflict. The most effected among these are children and women.

The wordings are from the famous song “We are the World” by USA for Africa which is a song that reminds us all that we are all one and part of a global community, and that our actions can make a difference in the lives of others.

Bournemouth came back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Burnley.

Charlie Taylor scored a brilliant half-volley to give the away side the lead but Bournemouth responded with an equaliser just ten minutes later.

And it looked like the game would end in a draw until Philip Billing pulled something special out of the bag to score the winner.

Collecting the ball from the edge of the half line, he spotted Trafford off his line and chipped him from almost 40 yards out. The scrambling keeper managed to get a glove to it but it was not enough to keep it out.

All 20 Premier League clubs are set to vote against the proposal of the formation of a new European Super League, according to an exclusive from Ben Jacobs via the Daily Briefing.

This story hasn’t completely gone away since a first attempt at forming a Super League fell apart in just 48 hours back in April 2021, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham backing the project at the time before U-turning after huge backlash from fans.

All 20 English top flight teams have now agreed that they’re against the idea of the European Super League, despite some figures in the game clearly still being keen on trying to make it work.

Jacobs claims the opposition from Premier League clubs is now unlikely to change, so it remains to be seen if it can really go ahead without big names like Arsenal and Man Utd involved.

Crucially, prospective United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also thought to be against the Super League.

The Premier League could reportedly be close to its first sacking of the season, with Andoni Iraola struggling at Bournemouth.

The Spanish tactician took charge of the Cherries during the summer, but things haven’t gone to plan for him as his team sit in 19th place in the table without a single win on the board so far this season.

Bournemouth only narrowly survived in the Premier League last season, and will have hoped to build on that with some improved displays this term.

Iraola looked like he could be the ideal man to take them forward, but it now seems his job is increasingly in danger, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Bournemouth may feel this season can still be salvaged if they make the right change soon enough, so it’s not looking good for Iraola right now.

The 41-year-old previously did impressive work at Rayo Vallecano, but the Premier League is a whole different ball game and it seems to be proving too much of a step up for him at this stage in his coaching career.

Bournemouth defender Lewis Cook was sent off against Wolves for headbutting Hwang Hee-Chan.

The Cherries scored first and went into the break leading 1-0. However, Wolves came back in the second half with much more intent. Just 2 minutes into the second half, Cunha equalised for Wolves.

And just 7 minutes later Lewis Cook and Hwang Hee-Chan were involved in an incident. The Wolves striker shoved Cook but the midfielder responded with a headbutt that saw him get a straight red card.

Wolves ended up scoring the winner in the 88th minute securing an important away win.

Premier League football supporters across the country will arguably waiting with baited breath to find out the detail behind the new TV deals, including a longed-for removal of the Saturday 3pm blackout.

Clubs in the English top-flight will also be keen to understand what slots will be available when the deals for 2025/26 to 2028/29 are struck.

According to BBC Sport’s Simon Stone, the packages are set to be agreed by the end of the calendar year, and supporters are set to be disappointed once more.

The 3pm blackout will stay as part of all of the packages available, which will, apparently, be bigger than 38 match rounds.

There will be five packages on offer with every slot, including the 2pm Sunday kick-off’s, now having live matches.

Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to be happy about the Saturday lunchtime slot being kept, with all other ‘usual’ slots – Friday night, Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon and Monday night staying the same too.

In short, not an awful lot has changed and the vagaries of the fixture calendar will surely end up with supporters having to travel the length and breadth of the country at hours to suit the TV companies rather than those that the game supposedly can’t do without.

Tottenham’s new sporting director, Johan Lange, is reportedly working on the club’s first signing to bolster the defense.

While Spurs currently have a solid defensive partnership in Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, squad depth remains a concern.

They were previously linked with Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly in the summer, and that interest is set to be renewed in January according to Football London.

The report suggests that Spurs can sign Kelly at a reduced fee due to his contract status, as he will enter the final six months of his contract in January.

Both Liverpool and Newcastle are also interested in the center-back, which may lead Bournemouth to sell him in January rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

The club parted ways with several defensive options in the summer. Eric Dier, the only senior backup center-back, hasn’t played a single game this season. He is not in the Tottenham manager’s plans and is likely to leave on a free transfer next summer.

The absolute debacle surrounding the VAR decision in the recent Tottenham vs Liverpool game has reignited the debate over whether it’s the technology or those using it that aren’t fit for purpose.

Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) chief, Howard Webb, has done another media round where he’s attempted to smooth over one of the worst errors we’ve seen to date, but that’s done little for the credibility of the organisation.

An organisation who routinely employ officials in their 30s and 40s who are having to keep up with the play of super-fit athletes.

That’s all wrong according to Premier League co-creator, ‘super agent’ Jon Smith.

‘Despite the furore that has again erupted around VAR, my initial thought is that it’s needed. A lot of football fans say it’s not but I’ve seen some awful decisions over the years and I’m a huge referee fan by the way. Frankly, how can you have, and why would you want, someone in their 30s or 40s trying to keep up with play when the game is being played by super fit teenagers and 20 somethings?’ he wrote in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.

‘Then those officials are having to make instant decisions when they may be 20 yards away and slightly blindsided. Decisions which are impactful on people’s lives and, in some cases, on lots of money being earned by a club or national team who are hoping to progress through to the next stage of a tournament.

‘[…] I think there’s a dichotomy here. I like VAR. I think what they did in the World Cup was along the right lines and I think we should use modern technology, but, all the things I’ve just said, I think they’re relevant to how it should be implemented.’

One surely has to ask the question of the authorities as to why they aren’t using the version of VAR that was available at the 2022 World Cup – and is used in other leagues.

It takes all of the guesswork out of the decision, which can arguably be arrived at more quickly as a result.

Like most other things that the Football Association meddle with, there’s enough bureaucratic red tape to get through to put off even the most fervent supporter, but something really does need to change.

The multi-million pound entertainment industry that football now is cannot afford to be derailed by what we’ve become accustomed to.
