Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Italian left-back Andrea Cambiaso.

The 23-year-old has impressed with his performances for Bologna and Juventus in recent months. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the north London club.

A report from Calciomercato claims that a number of clubs are taking note of his performances and it will be interesting to see if the Turin giants are prepared to sell him in the coming months.

Apparently, AC Milan and Fiorentina are keeping tabs on the defender as well.

Tottenham already have Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies at their disposal. It would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in another left-back.

The 23-year-old is capable of operating as a left-sided winger as well. He will want to play regularly at this stage of his career and Tottenham are unlikely to be able to provide him with that opportunity.

Udogie has been outstanding for Tottenham this season and he is the undisputed starter for the north London club right now. It seems highly unlikely that Ange Postecoglou will drop him from the starting lineup and sign another left-back, especially when he is performing at a high level.

Once the January transfer window comes around, there’s bound to be movement from the blue half of west London as Chelsea attack the market once more.

It’s become something of a theme of Todd Boehly’s ownership that he needs to flex when the game’s best talent becomes available.

Though he certainly can’t be accused of not backing his managers in the transfer market, there’s a cogent argument as to whether the club’s current transfer policy is the best way of doing business.

In any event the wheels already appear to be being set in motion for one player that’s yet to be put on the market by his current club.

That’s because Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is clearly one of the top young talents in European football, and any team would benefit by having him in their side.

TeamTalk note that Chelsea are showing the most interest in him, but he’s also being monitored by Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also mentioned as possible destinations for the 20-year-old.

Despite his relatively young age, Wirtz has played for the German national team on 12 occasions (per TeamTalk) and very obviously has the brightest of futures in the game.

It remains to be seen whether Leverkusen can hang onto him, with perhaps the future of coach, Xabi Alonso, tied into Wirtz’s.

Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson is expected to leave the club during the January transfer window.

A report from Turkish publication Aksam claims that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the 25-year-old central defender. Apparently, Galatasaray are prepared to sell the player midway through the season and they are aiming to recoup around €15-20 million for him.

Nelsson has been linked with the Premier League for months and it remains to be seen whether he can complete the move this time around.

Arsenal could certainly use more depth in the defensive unit and the arrival of Nelsson will allow Mikel Arteta to rotate his squad more often and keep the players fresh.

The 25-year-old has shown his quality in the Turkish League and for his national team. He is certainly good enough to do well in the Premier League as well. The opportunity to join a club like Arsenal will be hard to turn down and he will be excited to play for them.

“Like Leicester did around December to that kind of period, if they are still unbeaten or still top of the table, then you start saying ‘we are quite close to halfway through the season’, maybe they are genuine Premier League contenders.

“I wonder if Spurs will move in January if they feel that they are in the mix for the Premier League or to consolidate the Champions League,” Jacobs said.

“Son has assumed the Harry Kane role but if his goals dry up, you start looking at Richarlison and Brennan Johnson to weigh in. That is where one more creative-minded player might be quite important to Tottenham.

“In January, I can see them going for a box-to-box midfielder, capable of playing a disciplined role in central midfield but also breaking forward and scoring, like Odegaard at Arsenal.

“Tottenham looked at Conor Gallagher but they didn’t like the price, but that kind of profile might be something Tottenham explore.”

Speaking recently about what it is like to play for the likeable Aussie, Kulusevski, 23, revealed how the entire Spurs squad are ‘really enjoying’ what he has described as ‘funny’ training sessions.

“Postecoglou, excellent manager. He speaks about life stories, not just football,” the Sweden international said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“It was clear already in pre-season, training sessions under Ange are funny and we work a lot with the ball, we press a lot. But also, we learn from him. We’re really enjoying.”

Tottenham could certainly use more depth in the middle of the park and Mendez is versatile enough to operate in a number of positions. The 26-year-old can operate as a central midfielder as well as a central attacking midfielder. He is versatile enough to play in the wide areas as well.

The report from Fichajes claims that Real Sociedad are not keen on selling the player any time soon and they are prepared to fight for him. The midfielder reportedly has a market value of around €30 million and it remains to be seen with the Tottenham ready to make a move for him in January.

The reported valuation is certainly affordable for a club with Tottenham’s resources. The North London outfit will want to get back into the Champions League and bringing in quality players during the January window will only strengthen their case. They have started the season really well and are on top of the league table right now.

Arsenal and Tottenham unwilling to pay the asking price for 27-year-old target

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on the Brentford striker Ivan Toney during the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old striker is currently suspended for breaching betting regulations but he is set to return to action midway through January. He is hoping to join a big club and the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham could provide him with that opportunity.

However, a report from Fichajes claims that his €70 million asking price could prove to be prohibitive to any transfer and the likes of Arsenal and Spurs are unwilling to pay that kind of money for him.

Although he is a proven performer in the Premier League, the London clubs are hoping to sign him for a more reasonable price. It will be interesting to see if Brentford are willing to reduce their asking price and sell him for a more reasonable fee.

There is no doubt that Toney would improve both clubs immensely. Arsenal have Gabriel Jesus at their disposal and the Brazilian has not been a prolific goalscorer for them. Toney would add a new dimension to their attack.
